Dream Casters Fishing Event - Edmonton, AB

The application period for Soldier On members wishing to participate in the Soldier On Dream Casters Fishing event on 19,20, 21 and 22 May 25 is now open. The application deadline is 4 May 25.

AIM AND SCOPE OF EVENT:   
Soldier On in collaboration with the Dream Casters Society will host a one day fishing event on Wabamun Lake, AB.   Selected applicants will meet the guides in Spruce Grove, AB where they can load up with the guides or choose to follow in their POMV.  The 3-4 hour day is spent fishing and a lunch is provided.   

The number of Soldier On participants is limited to 08 (2 participants per day).

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: 
Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Edmonton Geographical area who acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.

Selected Serving members will require the approval of their Chain of Command to participate. 

DRAFT SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
19,20, 21 and 22 May 25 (All timings are the same for each day/you will be chosen for 1 day only) 

0800:  Meet Dream Caster guide and Soldier On Rep at the Spruce Grove, Canadian Tire.  
0810: Drive with guide or follow guide to lake. 
0900: Fishing On Lake Wabamun with two guides and one other Soldier On participant.  
1200: Lunch on the water.  
1400:  Fishing complete 

TRANSPORTATION & MEALS:
Participants are advised that transportation will not be provided by Soldier On for this event (unless the participant drives with the guide to the lake). Participants will be required to arrange their own travel to and from the event location. The following meals will be provided during the event: Lunch 

Mental & Physical Requirements:
Applicants must be able to tolerate 6 hours of light paced activities for 1 day. Due to the busy activity schedule, applicants must have a limited requirement for rest throughout the day. 

Applicants will be joined with other ill/injured members and civilians, and therefore should be able to function in a social environment.

Soldier On, PSP and CAF TG aim to provide a safe environment for all participants and staff. To ensure everyone’s safety, applicants understand that they should aim to adopt personal practices focused on communicable disease prevention such as health awareness, staying home when sick and regular hand cleaning to help prevent the spread.
