Saskatchewan Golf Day
The application period for Soldier On members wishing to participate in the Saskatchewan Golf Day on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 is now open.
The application deadline is Tuesday, May 13, 2025.
AIM AND SCOPE OF EVENT:
Soldier On, in collaboration with the Joanne Goulet Golf Club, will conduct the Saskatchewan Golf Day in Regina, SK. The event will take place on
Tuesday, 27 May 2025.
This event will provide an opportunity for Soldier On participants to learn basic golfing techniques through instruction and coaching.
The number of Soldier On participants is limited to
six (6).
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) from the
Province of Saskatchewan, who acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.
Selected
Serving members will require the approval of their Chain of Command to participate.
*NOTE FOR SERVING MEMBERS: The selection of serving members for activities outside their local regions for which members will be on TD will align with CAF direction on financial expenditures.
DRAFT SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
Tuesday, May 27, 2025
0900 hrs: Arrive at Joanne Goulet Golf Club
0930-1030 hrs: Instruction on Basic Golf techniques
1100-1300 hrs: Golf 9 holes of golf
1330-1430 hrs: Lunch
1430 hrs: Depart
TRANSPORTATION & MEALS:
Participants from the Moose Jaw/Regina area are advised that reimbursement for transportation will not be provided by Soldier On for this event, and they will be required to arrange their own travel to and from the event location. Participants from outside the geographical area of Moose Jaw/Regina (e.g. Dundurn, Saskatoon, etc.) will be provided travel assistance, which will be coordinated by the Soldier On Regional Coordinator in conjunction with Soldier On Operations. The most economical means of transportation to and from events will be prioritized and discussed with members via the event OPI or delegate.
Lunch at the Joanne Goulet Golf Club will be provided by Soldier On for all participants.
Mental & Physical Requirements
Participants
must be able to tolerate
six (6) hours of moderate paced activities. Due to the busy activity schedule, applicants must have a limited requirement for rest throughout the day. Participants
must be able to swing a golf club without issue or being in violation of their MELs.
Participants will be joined with other ill/injured members and civilians, and therefore should be able to function in a social environment. Participants from outside the geographical area of Moose Jaw/Regina may be required to share a room.
