Virtual Hockey Stickhandling Workshop with PSP Comox

Soldier On will be partnering with PSP at 19-Wing Comox to host a virtual hockey skills and stick handling workshop. Join us on May 12 for a 60-minute workshop focused on improving your off-ice techniques, while participating in fitness activities.

Ill/injured serving or retired members of the Canadian Armed Forces will receive one 60-minute session, including off-ice stick handling tips and drills & a hockey-specific training session.

This activity will bring together both serving and retired ill/injured CAF members, allowing participants to connect through peer support and encourage a healthy and active lifestyle.

The aim of this activity is to teach participants about drills and activities they can perform when they cannot necessarily access hockey facilities. Participants will complete a scaled hockey workout and skill drills to improve their on-ice game.

Participants will be given the opportunity to practice their hockey skills through a virtual workshop. The participants will do this by engaging in a session with PSP instructors where they work on stick handling, footwork, and fun activities to keep practicing their skills.

No special equipment is necessary; members will need a hockey stick, puck or ball, items to use as cones / markers (e.g., water bottles), and an optional mat.

Classes will be delivered on the virtual platform Google Meet.
