Indoor Golf - Niagara Falls
The application period for Soldier On members wishing to participate in the Indoor Golf Simulator in Niagara Falls On, 25-26 Feb 2025 is now open.

AIM AND SCOPE OF EVENT:
This event will see 8 participants from the St Catherines, Niagara Falls, Port Colborne area participate in two 3 hour indoor golf workshop in Niagara Falls Ontario 25-26 Feb 2025. Participants will be joined by 2 PGA teaching professionals for a semi private 1 hour lesson followed by a round of 18 holes at Impact Indoor Golf for 2 consecutive days.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) from the
St Catherines, Niagara Falls, Port Colborne area who acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.

Serving members will require the approval of their Chain of Command to participate.
*NOTE FOR SERVING MEMBERS: Amidst current financial limitations and a federal directive to reduce defense spending within DND by a Billion dollars, serving members' participation in Soldier On events and activities will now be limited to within their own local region (i.e., selection for event outside of where they reside is unlikely). As a result, serving members are advised that participation beyond their local area is likely to be denied, as Soldier On cannot sponsor any temporary duty status for serving members in order to align with government guidelines for expenditure reduction. Unfortunately, serving members are not authorized to participate in Soldier On activities and events while on leave.*
DRAFT SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
Tuesday Feb 25 and Wednesday Feb 26 2025
Group 1
1145hrs – Group 1 participants arrive at Impact Indoor Golf and check in with OPI;
1200-1300hrs – PGA teaching professional instruction;
1300-1500hrs – Round of virtual golf; and
1510hrs – Group 1 Complete
Group 2
1515hrs – Group 2 participants arrive at Impact Indoor Golf and check in with OPI;
1530-16300hrs – PGA teaching professional instruction;
1630-18300hrs – Round of virtual golf; and
1840hrs – Group 2 Complete
TRANSPORTATION & MEALS:
Applicants are advised that meals and transportation will not be provided by Soldier On for this event. Participants will be required to arrange their own travel to and from the event location, travel and meals are not eligible for reimbursement for this event. Participants also acknowledge that there will be no alcohol consumption allowed during the conduct of this event.
Mental & Physical Requirements:
Applicants must be able to tolerate 3 hours of moderate paced activities for each day and must be able to swing a golf club without issue and must not be in violation of their MELs, adaptations can be made to accommodate specific needs. Participants will be joined with other ill/injured members and civilians, and therefore should be able to function in a social environment. Applicants also acknowledge that there will be no alcohol consumption allowed during the conduct of this event.
