Golf Series

The application period for Soldier On members wishing to participate in the Golf series 10 March, 14 April, 26 May 2025 is now open. The application deadline is 27 January 2025.

AIM AND SCOPE OF EVENT:  We are excited to announce a unique collaboration between JR’s Parlor Golf and The Links at Penn Hills, offering an exclusive opportunity for golf enthusiasts to enhance their skills. This event will feature two skill-building simulator sessions, held in small groups of four, led by a professional golf pro. These sessions are designed to fine-tune your techniques and elevate your game. After the simulator sessions, participants will be hosted by The Links at Penn Hills for a round of 18 holes, providing the perfect opportunity to apply your newly honed skills on the course.

Important Notes:
  • The event consists of three sessions, and participants must commit to all three to take part.
The number of Soldier On participants is limited to 24.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) from the Truro and surrounding areas who acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.

Selected Serving members will require the approval of their Chain of Command to participate.

*NOTE FOR SERVING MEMBERS: Amidst current financial limitations and a federal directive to reduce defense spending within DND by a Billion dollars, serving members' participation in Soldier On events and activities will now be limited to within their own local    region (i.e., selection for event outside of where they reside is unlikely). As a result, serving members are advised that participation beyond their local area is likely to be denied, as Soldier On cannot sponsor any temporary duty status for serving members in order to align with government guidelines for expenditure reduction. Unfortunately, serving members are not authorized to participate in Soldier On activities and events while on leave.*

DRAFT SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

March 10: First simulator session in you respective group session
April 14: Second simulator session in your respective group session
