Cooking Classes - Québec
The application period for Soldier On members wishing to participate in the Cooking Classes on March 25th and 26th 2025 in Québec, QC is now open.
The application deadline is February Wednesday 26th at 12:00.
AIM AND SCOPE OF THE EVENT:
Soldier On is organizing Cooking Classes in collaboration with
www.madamegermaine.com on March 25th and 26th 2025. Participants will join friendly and experimented chef to learn cooking technics, obtain good advices and discover new flavours from all around the world. During the 3 hour course, participants will work as a team to prepare a full meal and they will set around the table to taste it once the preparation is done. Regardless of the current skill level, up to 12 participants will have the opportunity to use the art of cooking of as part of their recovery, rehabilitation, and reintegration.
The number of Soldier On participants is limited to 12 (twelve).
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF)
from the Large Québec City Region (within 90 min of car travel) who acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.

Serving members will require the approval of their Chain of Command to participate.
DRAFT SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
Tuesday March 25th, 11h00 - 14h00 (lesson #1 - Peru)
Thursday March 26th, 11h00 - 14h00 (lesson #2 - Greece)
TRANSPORTATION & MEALS:
Participants are advised that transportation will not be provided by Soldier On for this event. Participants will be required to arrange their own travel to and from the event location. Participants will prepare their lunch during class.
Mental & Physical Requirements:
Applicants must be able to tolerate 3 hours of light and indoor paced activities for 2 days in a row. Due to the busy activity schedule, applicants must have a limited requirement for rest throughout the day. Applicants will be joined with other ill/injured members and civilians, and therefore should be able to function in a social environment.
