Sailing Camp in Victoria, BC
Soldier On is partnering with the Canadian Forces Sailing Association at CFB Esquimalt to offer a five-day Sailing Camp, adaptive to all abilities. Participants will learn basic sailing skills with a focus on the operation of small-scale vessels, navigating marine environments, and the basics of sport sailing.
This event is recommended for those who are interested in experiencing sailing in a beginner-friendly environment, while learning about the sport and progressing their knowledge each day of the camp.
Learn the basics of sailing through both on-the water experience and dry-land activities. This event will involve teamwork, the basic skills of manning small-scale vessels (Sonar 23s), and will allow participants to develop their knowledge of sailing and marine life, while enjoying the natural beauty of the Vancouver Island coastlines. Each day will also involve short stretching, breathing, and mindful-movement warm-up sessions to prepare for on-water activities.
Through instruction and hands-on learning, participants will learn basic sailing skills and how to safely operate sailing vessels.
