National Golf Series: Western Canada 2025

The application period for Soldier On members wishing to participate in the National Golf Series: Western Canada 2025, 6-12 April 2025 (travel dates included) is now open. The application deadline is 19 March at 1200 PST.

AIM AND SCOPE OF EVENT: 
As a part of the Soldier On National Golf Series, Vancouver Island/Victoria area, is happy to announce it will be hosting the Western Canada Golf Camp 2025 from 6-12 April 2025 (travel days included). 

Selected Soldier On members from Western Canada (NW ON, MB, SK, AB and BC) will be afforded the opportunity to attend five consecutive days of clinics and game play instructed by some of Vancouver Islands’ and Canadas’ best Golf Pros on some of Canada's most prestigious courses. 

The aim and scope of this camp will be to improve current skill levels by revisiting the fundamentals; chipping, putting, and full swing mechanics in a golf clinic setting. Participants can expect to participate in one clinic per day which will last between 90-120min. Each clinic will be followed by a round of 18-hole golf. This camp will be very busy and have an extreme focus on golf fundamentals and improving current skill levels. Participants will be expected to be prepared to engage in 7-9 hours of golf and golf related activities daily.

**Participants are responsible for providing their own clubs and will be required to abide by the golf courses’ outlined dress codes**

The number of Soldier On participants is limited to 12

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: 
Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Western Canada (NW ON, MB, SK, AB and BC) who acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.

*Selected Serving members will require the approval of their Chain of Command to participate. 

*NOTE FOR SERVING MEMBERS: The selection of serving members for activities outside their local regions for which members will be on TD will align with CAF direction on financial expenditures.

7-11 April '25: Clinics and Golf
0600-0800 Morning Routine and Breakfast 
0930 Departure from Accommodations 
1000-1200 Golf Clinics 
1200 Lunch
1300-1800 Round of Golf on a variety of courses 
1800-2000 Dinner 
2000 Return to Accommodations

12 April '25: Travel Day

TRANSPORTATION & MEALS:
Travel assistance will be provided and coordinated by the Soldier On Regional Coordinator in conjunction with Soldier On Operations. The most economical means of transportation to and from events will be prioritized and discussed with members via the event OPI or delegate.

Local to area participants will be responsible for arranging day-to-day transportation with OPI. Arrangements will be made for local area participants to meet at a rendez-vous point and then may be transported by Soldier On to the activity. However, should participants choose to drive themselves, they will not be compensated. 

Mental & Physical Requirements:
Applicants must be able to tolerate 7+ hours of moderate to high paced activities for 5 days in a row. Due to the busy activity schedule, applicants must have a limited requirement for rest throughout the day. 

Applicants must be able to swing a golf club without issue and must be able to traverse uneven surfaces. 

All serving applicants must not be in violation of their MELs

Applicants will be joined with other ill/injured members and civilians, and therefore should be able to function in a social environment. 

Applicants are advised that the activity and meals for this event is/may be located at Canadian Armed Forces bases/facilities, and thus they may be exposed to a day-to-day military environment. 

Applicants also acknowledge that there will be no alcohol allowed in the accommodations, and will be required to share accommodations.
